Day-by-day travel itinerary for a visa application
How to prepare a realistic day-by-day itinerary for a Schengen or other visit visa, from 3 to 7 days, and what to match it with.
Many consulates ask for a travel plan. A short day-by-day itinerary shows that you have a real, realistic trip in mind and that you plan to leave on time.
What to include
- Entry and exit dates, and the route you will fly.
- The city or cities for each night, matching your accommodation bookings.
- Main activities per day, with morning, afternoon and evening.
- Local transport between cities.
Tips
- Keep the plan simple and realistic for the days you have.
- Dates must match the flight reservation, hotel booking and travel insurance.
- Use real places and add the exact venue names before you submit.
Check the official checklist
This guide is general information, not legal advice, and it does not guarantee a visa. Rules differ by country, visa type and consulate, and they change. Follow the checklist of the embassy or visa centre you apply to.
